Showing much love to their loyal Japanese fan-base, SEGA have released Yakuza game after Yakuza game for the fans of the series on the PS3. There’s even a PSP game in the world of the Yakuza crime-syndicate being worked on. You certainly can’t deny SEGA’s commitment to the series, and their dedication doesn’t seem to be wavering anytime soon as yet another Yakuza game is in production.
Series Director Toshihiro Nagoshi has confirmed to Japanese magazine Famitsu that another game will be coming to the series, the new game has been in development alongside PSP title Black Panther Yakuza Chapter.
“We want to show evidence of ‘there are still these possibilities for the Yakuza series’,”
“We won’t be throwing out the past methods of enjoyment, but we will be taking a scalpel to the fundamentals of the game systems.”
Whether or not this is a main Yakuza game of a spin-off is yet to be determined. Expect some details at the upcoming Tokyo Games Show. If you haven’t done so already check out our Yakuza 3 review.
