Sony Celebrates One Million ‘minis’ Sales

Since the ‘miniS’ program was launched on October 1st 2009 (coinciding with the release of PSPgo), Sony has been hoping its bite sized marketplace could rival that of it’s hottest competitor, Apple. While I’m sure Sony would have liked to make this announcement sooner, rather than nine and a half months into the minis schedule, that didn’t stop the merriment and festivities over at the PlayStation Blog. You know, It’s quite hard not to get caught up in the excitement of it all.

To celebrate one million downloads across the PAL and US regions, Sony has released a list of the top ten best selling minis currently on the Store. Sitting at the top of the list is the delectable Age of Zombies by Halfbrick, followed by Monopoly and Fieldrunners respectively. Pinball Fantasies came in at number seven and the ‘Pong-em-up’ Breakquest rounded out the list at number ten. Sales figures were unfortunately absent.

SCEE also announced that it would be hosting a live web chat with a number of minis developers including Paul Croft, Publisher of Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess and Joe Dixon, Load Coder on Car Jack Streets which releases this week in Europe. Check the European PlayStation Blog tomorrow for a chance to participate in the Q&A session.
