Legendary game creator Keita Takahashi, known for his work on the Katamari and Noby Noby Boy series, recently had some rather frank remarks about the gaming industry. In the interview, he talked about the state of video games, and of the bleak future that will meet the industry.
Speaking with Official PlayStation Magazine, Takahashi he “doesn’t see” a future in gaming.
“I’m actually not thinking about a future in games. It’s not that I’m not interested in them, but I want to try lots of different things.”
Switching gears, Takahashi then focused on this year’s E3 convention, and the motion controllers that seemed to dominate the spotlight.
“At E3 I saw people putting on speeches but I thought the future seemed a bit dark. The 3D games didn’t spark my interest.
“I think motion control’s a bit old now, I don’t think those games are the future. It all seemed a bit dull.”
Certainly some refreshing remarks from a game developer. Hopefully he is proved wrong, but we here at PlayStation LifeStyle can’t help but at least put some weight into the legendary creator’s words.
