Mass Effect 2 PS3 Will Get Hours of Bonus Content, No ME1

During Electronic Arts gamescom press conference, the publisher confirmed BioWare’s Xbox 360 console exclusive, Mass Effect 2, will be releasing on the PlayStation 3 early next year. For those looking for an excuse to buy the RPG again, EA has promised BioWare will include hours of bonus content for the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2. However, despite getting Mass Effect 2 and additional content, the original Mass Effect still won’t be making its way onto the PS3.

Electronic Arts issued the news in a statement which says:

“The PlayStation 3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and hours of bonus content, making this the perfect introduction to BioWare’s award-winning action RPG franchise.”

A Microsoft representative responded to the news of the game going multiplatform recently to GameSpot, which confirmed Mass Effect 1 won’t be arriving onto Sony’s console.

“With both Mass Effect titles launching first on Xbox 360 combined with the wealth of available paid downloadable content on Xbox Live today, Xbox 360 remains the best place to experience the Mass Effect franchise. And the original Mass Effect is absolutely an Xbox 360 exclusive, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience.”
