Torchlight released on the PC late last year, and although it did not sell much at first it got rave reviews from those who had played. Ever since its release, Runic CEO Max Schaefer has always shown interest of releasing a PSN version. Well if you are a fan, or were in the least bit interested, this looks like it may become a reality sooner then later.
In an interview with Joystiq Schaefer was asked about the console release:
“We’re trying, we’re talking [to Sony and Microsoft] and we hope to get that done quickly.”
There was no release date given, but he did mention that he hoped it would release before the holidays. This may seem like a short turnaround, but the PC version only took 10 months to develop, so bringing the console version out so quickly is pretty realistic. If you’re unfamiliar with Torchlight it is an action RPG that will make you loot whores quit happy. Most game journalists compare this pretty favorably to Diablo which makes a lot of since a lot of Diablo’s game designers are now apart of Runic games.
