With Sony pushing 3D on as many games as possible, why haven’t we heard anything about stereoscopic support for one of the PS3’s greatest franchises, LittleBigPlanet 2? It’s got Move support and the sequel looks to be lightyears ahead of its predecessor. What’s the hold up?
While we haven’t heard anything about an official announcement for 3D support in LittleBigPlanet 2, we now have confirmation that Media Molecule HAS worked with the technology. SCEE Senior Director Mick Hocking has seen the game with 3D enabled and it’s “stunning.” Doesn’t that count as an official announcement? Unfortunately not. The work that Hocking saw with Media Molecule was still in the R&D phase. “”It looks toy-like. It looks like you can grab things in the game. The guys haven’t announced what they are doing yet, but if they did it would be stunning in 3D.”
Toy-like, eh? Considering the LBP universe already looks like a big toy box. Sounds like the guys at Media Molecule couldn’t have gotten a better compliment. LittleBigPlanet 2 will be releasing on November 16th in North America and looks to improve in every way possible on its prequel.
