The God of War Collection — released late last year to bolster support for Sony’s upcoming rage-’em-up sequel God of War 3– paved the way for other franchises to see re-releases on a newer console. Currently the only way to play PlayStation 2 games on the newer models of PS3s, the ‘Classics HD’ line has been met with generally positive fan support, leaving fans asking for more.
One bundle which many gamers have been clamoring for is the Team ICO Collection, which would consist of the critically praised ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. It has been rumored for a while now and with TGS right around the corner, it seems like the perfect time for these games to make their début on PS3.
Industry sources have apparently told Eurogamer that a Team ICO Collection reveal is imminent. This collection is rumored to be on store shelves “in March or April of next year” with retailers taking pre-orders “in the next few days”. The price will be “around £24.99” which will most likely convert to a North American price of $40.
We’ve already seen Walmart put up their listing for this bundle so it seems like only a matter of time before other retailers follow suit. Expect to hear more on this heavily rumored title when TGS kicks off later this week.
