Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Hitting Arcades Next Year

TGS had almost come and gone with nary a peep about any new Tekken outing. That was all set to change however when Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada teased on his Twitter that he would be announcing a new project very soon. As it turns out, that project is not Tekken 7, but in fact it’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Harada-san confirmed that the sequel to the 10-year-old, PS2 game would be hitting arcades in the summer of next year. No console versions were mentioned but it’s highly likely that Tag 2 will end up on PS3 and possibly PSP at some point hopefully in the not too distant future.

However, the real question on everyone’s lips is whether Tekken X Street Fighter or Tekken Tag 2 will see a return of the Tekken Volleyball Tournament, and alas, we cannot say anything for certain. We’ll keep you posted on more Tekken news as we receive it, but for now, have a gander at the new trailer below.
