It seems Sony was onto something last year when they released the God of War Collection on the PS3. After selling well over a million copies, other game companies are looking into the ‘HD update’ for their franchises. We recently reported about the Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Klassics from Warner Bros., now it looks like Ubisoft might actually be serious about updating two of their classic last-gen trilogies on the PS3.
Early last month Amazon France created listings both a Splinter Cell Trilogy and a Prince of Persia Trilogy, it looks as if another online retailer has joined in on the party. Zavvi now has their own listings for both collections, with the Splinter Cell Trilogy listed for Nov. 26th and the POP trilogy for March 11th, 2011. Even though Ubisoft hasn’t said a word about either collection, Amazon France originally listed the Team ICO Collection, which has since been confirmed for release next year in beautiful HD and stereoscopic 3D support.
With the only confirmed HD collection this year being The Sly Collection, we will let you know the official confirmation when (or if) they happen for any of the three rumored collections.
