Ever since the release of the God of War Collection late last year — which featured HD remastering and added trophy support — the PlayStation community has been demanding similar compilations be released for nearly every franchise worth its salt. Sony has taken note of their pleas and will not only be bringing The Sly Collection to the PlayStation 3 in mere days, but also have recently revealed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection.
However, it isn’t just Sony that is answering the fan’s call for more. The outcry for these collections has also caught the attention of wide-eyed third-party publishers looking to get in on the action.
Ubisoft is apparantly a big fan of these collections, as they will be releasing not one, but 4 of these collections in the near future if French gaming site, JeuxVideo.fr, is to be believed, who claims the following titles are “confirmed” for a November 4th release:
- Prince of Persia Trilogy
- Splinter Cell Trilogy
- Rayman Trilogy
- Tom Clancy’s Trilogy (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six)
Along with Ubisoft, Warner Bros. looks to release the oft-rumored Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection that features the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 all on one Blu-ray disc.
To back up these claims, JeuxVideo.fr has box art for two of the games as you can see below:
