Jack Thompson: Gamers Can “Go To Hell”

Jack Thompson just will not leave the video game industry alone, despite the fact that he has been permanently disbarred from practicing law since September 2008. With the recent change in EA’s Medal of Honor game, the activist has a few choice words towards gamers.

As you may or may not know, EA recently decided to change the label of the terrorist players in Medal of Honor’s multiplayer mode from “Taliban” to “Opposing Force.” This was mostly due to some negative reaction from various interest groups. Jack Thompson had actually written a letter regarding the issue to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, calling the game a “training tool” for terrorists to learn how to kill members of our military. In speaking with Ripten, Jack Thompson declared this result a victory for himself:

“I win again, as usual.  Any gamers who don’t think so and who don’t appreciate what I do to protect our culture can go to Hell.”

But Mr. Thompson wasn’t done yet. He sent a second e-mail which added:

“and please add:  Any gamers that don’t know how to get to Hell on an expedited basis, let me know, and I’ll send along the cheat code to get there more quickly.”

Rant away, everybody, rant away.
