Kratos Gets Animated in this God of War Manga

Despite being a landmark franchise in Europe and North America, Sony knows the God of War franchise is not as popular in Japan as it is in its home country. How can the Japanese audience be assimilated into Kratos’ story of revenge and destiny? By making a manga of course!

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan doesn’t even publish the God of War games, Capcom does. It’s just a cultural thing. So to help explain the story, there is going to be a God of War manga. There are mangas for just about EVERYTHING in Japan. They even exist for educational purposes, like studying Math and Physics.

This is going to be a big deal too! High-profile artist Tatsuya Egawa is heading up the project. Designed to bring new players up to speed, the manga will be offered to purchasers of Ghost of Sparta in the next month. Let’s just hope that the series ends up being better than this panel:

Wow… did anyone else notice how abnormally large Kratos’ head is behind that speech bubble? Not that I don’t like manga…but I’ll just stick with my US God of War comic book.
