The publishing deal that Platinum Games and Sega inked is at its completion and has been mutually beneficial for both parties. The deal saw Sega publish Vanquish and Bayonetta on the PS3/360, Infinite Space for the DS, and Madworld for the Wii. Platinum is not satisfied with ending it at Vanquish and are in talks with Sega to extend the partnership.
Speaking with Develop, Platinum’s Atsushi Inaba had this to say.
“The partnership has been great, and we are in talks with Sega now, but there’s nothing concrete we can say about it at the moment.
When we created Platinum Games, we of course talked to a lot of publishers, and Sega offered us the most freedom to develop games. I think the partnership has been great, and I’m really grateful for their support.”
We hope to see this partnership continue as Bayonetta and Vanquish are both great titles and show us just what Platinum Games is capable of, especially with the backing of a publisher who believes in them.
