If you’re one of the few loyal fans of EA’s NBA Live franchise, and may have been planning on picking up NBA Elite 11, it looks like you’ll have to wait another year to get your hands on an EA NBA title.
After taking a beating from 2K over the past few years, EA was looking to revamp their basketball franchise with NBA Elite 11, but that’s not gonna happen this year, as the title has officially been canceled. Development for the next game will be handled by EA Tiburon in Orlando as opposed to EA Canada. EA’s John Schappert stated the following:
“we have elected to cancel NBA Elite 11.”
“Future development of that franchise will be handled at EA Tiburon in Orlando,”
Let’s hope that next year off will mean big improvements for EA’s NBA offering, because overall this was probably one of the best decisions that EA could have made. Additionally, let’s just hope this new series, with a new developer, doesn’t suffer the same form of stagnation that Madden has over the past few years. We’ll be sure to bring you anything we hear regarding NBA Elite 12, until then be sure to stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle!
