Darksiders 2 was confirmed as an in-development title shortly after the release of the well-received Darksiders. Although the game is still over a year away, that doesn’t keep THQ from updating us on where the wrathful series is headed.
During an IGDA conference, THQ EVP Danny Bilson gave an update on the story of Darksiders 2 and what we can expect to see this time around. Bilson stated the following during an interview:
“It’s a different character and takes place simultaneously to the story, because there’s only one apocalypse, and has new mechanics and features that differentiate it a lot and grow it from the first game.”
Bilson went on to acknowledge that THQ plans to establish Darksiders as a core IP for the company assuming the next title sells well. This bodes well for fans of the first title although it may be considered disappointing that War won’t be the star of the latest title.
