Japan Experiences Two Impressive Debuts on Sony Hardware

The past few weeks have been very kind to Sony and its products over in the land of the rising sun. Following great numbers for Gran Turismo 5 which came in at almost 500K sold, Sony sees those numbers heavily boosted this past week with the debuts of Tales of Graces F on the PS3 and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on the PSP. The PSP also saw a huge boost on the hardware front thanks to Monster Hunter.

Monster Hunter debuted at the top spot of the Japanese Media Create charts with close to two-million units sold, a feat to be expected of a series so popular in Japan. Tales of Graces F didn’t have the same numbers, but still had a strong debut in the #2 spot with 200K sold on the PlayStation 3 in its first week. The impressive numbers don’t stop there with the PlayStation portable hardware numbers jumping to 323K for the week. The PS3 came back to earth a bit following GT5 with 41K sold.
