Free Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood DLC Coming in January

Ubisoft today released downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood for free; entitled Animus Project Update 1.0, this multiplayer-focused DLC pack includes a new mode (Advanced Alliance mode), and an all-new map, too. Now, the French publisher has announced the continuation of today’s DLC in the form of Animus Project Update 2.0, which will be sneaking into the PlayStation Store come January, 2011.

Following on the tradition of free DLC for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Ubisoft has announced that Animus Project Update 2.0 will be available free of charge when it’s released sometime in January. The downloadable content pack, which focuses purely on the game’s multiplayer, will consist of a new game mode as well as a new map.

The new game mode is called Chest Capture where players will be split into two teams, which will have 3 players on each side, with the goal being to capture or defend Chests. The map, meanwhile, is set in Pienza, which promises to be a free-running playground where players can instantly blend in and disappear with ease. Additionally, Animus Project Update 2.0 also includes a Templar Score feature, which Ubisoft explains is a way to “reward diligent work by Abstergo recruits.”
