Rockstar Still Hard at Work With Max Payne 3

After the game’s existence was confirmed in 2004, Max Payne 3 has been since kept in the dark by Rockstar. Publisher Take-Two officially announced the game was in development by Rockstar’s Vancouver studio, with the game being initially planned for a release last year. The long-awaited return of the shooter series was then further delayed and fears for Max Payne 3 ever releasing were sparked when the game was missing from Take-Two’s recently released 2011-2012 release schedule. However, fans can be rest assured that Rockstar is still pressing on with the hotly anticipated installment.

When publisher Take-Two decided to omit Max Payne 3 from its recent 2011-2012 release schedule questions were brought up on the situation regarding the game. Though, representatives from the developer squashed fears that the game had been canned or put on hold indefinitely. A Rockstar rep told Kotaku:

“We’re still working hard on Max, and we’ll have more news in the coming months.”

The popular Max Payne series is known for its dirty, gritty style and it’s unfortunate that details are extremely limited at this time; other than the game’s official site not much has been unveiled by Rockstar on the third installment. However, at least gamers can be rest assured the game is in good hands, right?

In other Take-Two-related news, these are the games which are confirmed for a launch during the 2011-2012 release schedule:
