Winner: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
Naughty Dog has played a huge part in defining Sony’s PlayStation consoles over the past couple decades with award-winning series such as Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter. This generation, that trend has been continued with the remarkable experiences provided with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Both games are admired for their sense of adventure, quality through polish, and the latter is still the undisputed king of presentation on the current-generation of consoles. Uncharted 2 has remained one of the highest-rated games of all-time, and earned a 10 along with an Editor’s Choice award from our team.
Many gamers watched over an hour of the VGAs waiting anxiously just to see the debut trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and it was well-worth the wait. In just two short minutes of footage it was made evident that Naughty Dog is aiming once again to define the action-adventure genre. The environments look more varied, the visuals look better, and the gameplay looks even more refined. The mere thought of another Uncharted title coming in the next year is enough to incite feelings of excitement as we await yet another intriguing treasure hunt with the charming Nathan Drake. While 2011 is a year filled with an enormous amount of quality titles, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is our Most Anticipated Game of 2011.
