Wesley Snipes Planning A Video Game…While In Prison

Wesley Snipes, who you may know as Blade from the trilogy of movies of the same name, is currently serving a three-year stint in a medium-security Pennsylvania prison for failing to file his taxes. That isn’t deterring him from continuing to develop new franchises, however, which will include a videogame.

As spotted on IGN, a Julius Styles: The International game is set to release this June on the iOS platform and “an unspecified date” on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and Android platforms. According to Mr. Snipes, the game is action-oriented, but will also contain puzzle elements. He also went on to describe where some of his inspiration for the game and franchise came from:

[The game] was inspired by my desire to bring my Art of War, Murder at 1600 and Passenger 57 characters into the game world…Julius Styles will offer something for both the mind game strategist and the kick-ass special ops warrior lover…I love games that challenge my mind and reflexes…Julius Styles pits your street knowledge survival skills with your academic intellect and spiritual intuition.

Lapland Studio, a WiiWare developer, has been penned as the developer of the games, with help from Elstree Studio Productions and Red 27, two movie studios. A movie for the series will start filming when Mr. Snipes gets released from prison, which is currently projected as July 19, 2013.
