Sony Working On “a New Unannounced IP” For PS Move

Animator:

The London Studio is looking for an exceptional candidate to work as an Animator on a new unannounced IP . The candidate should have an excellent knowledge and be able to demonstrate the principles of animation, and also share the passion and enthusiasm to bring these skills to a 3D game environment.

Your role will involve the prototype and production of in-game animations and cinematics for a new Move controller game. You will be required to use both motion capture data and hand-keyed animation to produce highly realistic movements for all in game characters.

Job responsibilities:

– Use Autodesk Motionbuilder, Maya and proprietary in house animation tools to create natural, realistic, highly polished animations with minimum supervision

– Collaborate with the Art Director and/or Lead Animator to produce animations that fit the project and franchise style

– Mentor less experienced animators

– Proactively recognise problems and troubleshoot solutions

– Work with Programming and Design to ensure animations properly fit the game play requirements

– Deliver content on schedule and within any technical limitations

Required Skills:

– Accomplished 3D animator with a passion to create compelling, well timed animation – as evident in an outstanding demo reel

– Ability to create realistic and stylised character animation

– Strong understanding of motion capture animation essential

– Understanding of the core principals and fundamentals of animation but also be demonstrated (staging, timing and motion, anticipation, exaggeration, follow through, arcs & appeal)

– Understanding and ability to communicate the principals of body movement

– Ability to learn fast, take initiative with assigned tasks and follow through creative and technical troubleshooting

– Efficient, reliable, self motivated, passionate about animation

– Good interpersonal and communication skills

– Experience in one or more 3D applications (Maya preferred)

Desirable:

– Facial animation skills & experience

– Excellent graphic skills and significant knowledge of art fundamentals including staging, layout, story telling & editing

– Fine Art Background
