If you’re a fan of the great RPGs made by Square in the 90s, then Parasite Eve likely rings a bell. Released in 1998, the title utilized creative artistic imagery to portray a unique survival-horror RPG world never seen before outside of its novel and film versions. If you have a hard time imagining what a survival-horror RPG would be like, then perhaps a PlayStation Store release can help.
The ESRB has approved the original Parasite Eve with a Mature rating due to “sexual themes” and “violence”. Although there still hasn’t been an official announcement by Sony, the ESRB website states that the game will be available for the PS3 and PSP, usually indicating a PlayStation Store release.
The 3rd Birthday was released on the PSP last year, and was the third installment for the series, although it didn’t share many similarities with its two popular older brothers, Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve II. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Parasite Eve on a console, so this would be a great opportunity for Square Enix to go back and do the series justice with the new hardware available.
