Survival horror has evolved rapidly over the years, and while Resident Evil was the undisputed king roughly a decade ago, that crown now belongs to Dead Space. Visceral Games shocked the industry back in 2008 with the original Dead Space, which arrived in a timely fashion when its genre was in a severe slump. Since then, another couple of titles have released, each inflicting nightmares on those who dare to play them. Unfortunately for these people, another Dead Space is being developed in the lab, and it’ll likely be just as intensely frightening as the others.
A job listing on Gamasutra indicates that Dead Space developer Visceral Games, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts, is currently hiring for a new title in the award-winning series. The position currently available is for the Senior Level Designer role, and the post does detail that the project is for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Dead Space 2 left us all with a minor cliffhanger, so this comes as no surprise, but it’s only been a couple of months since it released, so Electronic Arts is clearly dedicated to continuing the series.
