The PlayStation Network has already been down for several weeks, but with Sony missing their targeted return of last week due to the discovery of an attack on Sony Online Entertainment, the company has been rather quiet on when exactly everything would be back to normal. Unfortunately, it now seems like it may take until the end of the month to return.
Speaking with Bloomberg, Sony spokesperson Shigenori Yoshida said that they were still “uncertain” about when the network would be fully operational, with Bloomberg reporting that it could take until May 31st. Of course, as Sony previously outlined plans for a staged return, online gaming could arrive far earlier, but a lack of communication from Sony makes estimates hard. It is also not known if Sony will increase the value of their “Welcome Back” package in light of the extended downtime.
