Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, also known as Alone in the Dark 4, was released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2001. The survival horror action-adventure game, which was developed by Spiral House (for the PS2 installment), may be making a return to the PlayStation 3 if an ESRB rating is to be believed.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board has listed Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare for the PlayStation 3. Sony Computer Entertainment America are listed as the publishers for the game.
The rating for the title opens up the possibility of the game – considering it’s over 10 years old – being ported onto the PlayStation Network. We’d, of course, prefer a fully fledged title and with E3 around the corner don’t be surprised if it gets formally announced during the gaming convention.
The last Alone in the Dark game on current-generation consoles was Alone in the Dark: Near Death Investigation, also known as Alone in the Dark 5. The fifth installment in the long running franchise was released in 2008.
