Kojima Not Attending E3

Hideo Kojima had spoken of his desire to reveal his “dream” NGP game at E3. The industry icon has taken stage at a number of major press conferences, and had a strong presence at past shows. So one would assume we’d see Kojima this year during the annual 3-day industry event at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Metal Gear Solid creator, however, has confirmed the contrary by stating he will not be attending this year’s E3 Expo convention.

Hideo Kojima confirmed the news via his Twitter account by saying:

Since I decided not to go to E3, I made an interview video hastily. Asked Mr. Mark MacDonald (former editor at EGM/1up.com) to be an interviewer.

The renowned developer showed an image of him and Mark within his tweet:

Mark later confirmed that their details on their video chat will be going live soon.

Although Kojima won’t be attending E3 he may very well be present at Konami’s pre-E3 press conference, which they are holding on June 2nd. Kojima Productions has said several announcements will be made. However, with Sony sure to put a substantial emphasis on the NGP during their press conference, it’s undoubtedly a let-down that Kojima won’t be revealing his title for the PSP successor during the presser.
