Special Tales of Xillia PS3 Coming, Japanese Release Scheduled

At a recent fan festival, Tales fans got some interesting news about the series next big game. Upon considering the crazily high level of anticipation surrounding Tales of Xillia, Sony and Namco Bandai have put their heads together and come up with a special edition PlayStation 3 that will be bundled with the game. Coinciding with this is the confirmation of the game’s Japanese release date, which will be Sept. 8 of this year.

The console to be packed with the game, pictured below, will retail for ¥37,980, or the present-day exchange rate equivalent of roughly $415 US. The solo game will be ¥8,379, or like $95. The first run of Tales of Xillia will also include free download codes for PS3 themes and alternate costumes. In the screens below, the main characters can be seen sporting the signature outfits of the heroes from Tales of Phantasia (originally for Super Famicom) and Tales of Destiny (originally on PlayStation).

Lastly, the same festival was also the place Namco Bandai chose to first unveil its latest trailer, now seen here:

The game’s opening videos are not available yet, but there are said to be two of them — one focusing on Milla and one focused on Jude.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted with more info and media leading up to the game’s September release.
