Despite having released on other platforms, Metal Gear Solid has always been strongly linked to the PlayStation platform, with all major releases coming to a PlayStation console, including the PS3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots. If you’re new to the series, or want to relive some of the greatest moments in the franchise, you’re in luck – Konami have announced a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will all be coming to the PS3 and 360 in HD, Konami announced at their Pre-E3 Press Event. Peace Walker will not be part of the PSP Remaster series and rather just part of the collection. Trophies/Achievements, right analog stick and rumble support will be added, with improved audio and visuals. The collection is scheduled to release November 2011.
The collections will support Kojima’s new “lifestyle” called “Transfarring” (yes, Transfarring). PlayStation players will have one save that works with PS3 and PSP copies of certain games – play half way through a game on the PSP and then switch to PS3. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be the first Transfarring capable title.
Stay tuned to PSLS for more coverage of the show as it happens.
