E3 2011 has come and gone and while there were a plethora of new announcements, one of the biggest for PS3 owners was from Konami’s pre-E3 conference. There, Kojima Productions showcased a new feature called “transfarring” (no, not transferring) which allows you to play games on a portable platform such as the Vita, then transfer your saved game up to the PlayStation 3 for a continued gaming experience. You better get used to hearing about this feature too because it looks like it is here to stay.
In a recent episode of the Kojima Productions podcast, it was confirmed that all future major titles from Kojima Productions will support the newly announced transfarring feature, meaning that they will all have PlayStation Vita releases.
We have a plan moving forward, where all of our major titles will have this transfarring functionality. So you’ll buy the next big game from Kojima Productions on PS3, and there’ll also be an NGP version [PSVita] and take it on the go.
This is great news as transfarring brings a whole new level of connected to gamers out there with a PlayStation 3 and later this year a PlayStation Vita.
