HD collections have become all the rage in the video game industry. It’s an easy cash and grab tactic for publishers, at the same time giving fans a taste of nostalgia. Almost every significant franchise from the PS2 days has been remastered in HD and re-released (or is scheduled to be re-released) in collection form. Except for Devil May Cry.
And even though Capcom hasn’t made any such announcement, a Devil May Cry 10th Anniversary Collection has appeared on a Spanish retailer’s website. According to the box art that was also included in the listing, the collection will include Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition.
The box art features the “Only On PlayStation” logo in the upper-right corner, signifying that it’s likely PS3 exclusive. The retailer also lists the game for a November 30th release date, which is a little over one month past the game’s actual 10-year anniversary.
Again, Capcom hasn’t announced this to be true. But seeing a box art and the fact that Devil May Cry‘s tenth anniversary is indeed coming in the very near future adds plenty of credence to this rumor.
