There’s certainly no shortage of premium avatars on the PSN, but it’s nice to have some free goodies tossed your way every once in a while. If you’ve been a loyal PixelJunk fan, you might qualify for just that.
We had a great opportunity a while back to interview Dylan Cuthbert, founder of Q-games, about PixelJunk Shooter 2, which at the time had yet to be released. During the interview he revealed that fans who purchased both PixelJunk Shooter games would receive a little freebie as a reward, and it seems that’s finally here. Announced on the PSBlog, Q-Games’ Ariel Angelott has informed us that the free avatar pack is available now. All you need to do is head to the PlayStation Store and find the PixelJunk Shooter 2 Loyalty Avatar Pack under ‘Newest Avatars’, or just the avatar section in general. The three avatars include the PixelJunk ship, a group of survivors shown below, and the lava blasting enemy type.
If you don’t own one of the games, it’s certainly worthwhile to pick up the other, not just for the avatars but for the sheer fun and quality of these games. The original PixelJunk Shooter broke the mold of conventional side scrolling shooters by involving environmental puzzles and obstacles while trying to save stranded humans. PixelJunk Shooter 2 continued the theme and challenge with even more environmental interaction and a unique cat and mouse multiplayer mode. With both earning great review scores and reception from fans, these avatars are the perfect way to show your colors as a PixelJunk fan.
