Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter to Be Left Behind Says Naughty Dog

Naughty Dog may be one of the most respected development studios of this generation, but they’ve been at it for a long time. Not only did they develop the award-winning Crash Bandicoot games on the PlayStation 1, which were staples of the console, but they also did extremely well with the Jak & Daxter series. There’s been an increasing demand to get these two franchises over on the HD train, but Naughty Dog is heading a different direction.

If you’re hoping for Crash Bandicoot and/or Jak & Daxter to make their way to the PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog have some disappointing words for you. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Assistant Producer Victor Harris replied with the following when asked about the chances of either franchise coming to the current-generation:

Naughty Dog is a one franchise per-console company and Playstation 3 is Uncharted.

Ouch. Truthfully, it makes sense since that’s how it’s been done since the PS2 came out, but myself and many others have been itching for Crash, Jak, and Daxter to put themselves to the test on today’s hardware. More specifically, I have been hoping for a new Crash Team Racing title to fill that arcade kart racing void on the PS3 (ModNation Racers was great but one isn’t enough). But hey, at least we have Nathan Drake… he’s pretty awesome, and the reception his games have been getting doesn’t lie either.
