One of the best series on the PlayStation Portable, Patapon is a fantastic rhythm based game franchise that has spanned 3 iterations. Developed by Pyramid Inc., with the help of Sony’s Japan Studio it has helped bolster the PSP’s rather meek library. But with the developer now working on a PS3 title, Patapon might be coming to everyone’s favorite home console.
Section Manager at Pyramid Inc., James Wragg lists on his LinkedIn that the company is working on a PS3 game, as well as a new mobile game:
Titles:
Patapon 3 (PSP)
Fuun Shinsengumi (PSP)
Unannounced (PS3)
Unannounced (mobile/SNS)
Of course, the game might not be Patapon for PS3, it could be an entirely new title, but it is likely that it’s a PlayStation Network title due to the size of the development team.
With gamescom later this month, the game could be revealed at the show, but being developed by a Japanese developer means that it is more likely that it’s announced at the Tokyo Game Show – if it is even announced this year.
