Adorn Your Mantel With Skyrim’s Collector’s Edition

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set to be the climax of the entire series, so what better way is there to celebrate the arrival of a pinnacle title than getting a wicked collector’s edition?

It’s been 200 years since the Gates of Oblivion have been opened, and the land of Skyrim is entering a civil war as a result of the death of their king. These are the final events foretold in the Elder Scrolls which will lead to the return of the dragon god, Alduin. Conquering this massive boss will be no small feat, and while you’ll likely earn a virtual trophy for it, Bethesda is also giving us the opportunity to have a physical one as well. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Collector’s Edition has been announced and detailed, and includes an awesome statue of Alduin perched and roaring to strike fear into his enemies. That’s not all you’ll get though, and the complete edition includes the following:

  • Alduin Statue. Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 12″ tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modeled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater.
  • The Art of Skyrim’ Official Art Book. Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8″ x 12 1/8″ coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim.
  • The Making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ DVD. This documentary DVD contains exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the Bethesda Game Studios team.

It all sounds like a great high quality collector’s edition, especially since that 200 page art book appears to be hardcover. Here’s the kick though – it’s currently priced at $149.99, a hefty price tag indeed. Despite that, this still looks like one of the better collector’s editions I’ve seen in a while, and hopefully should satisfy hardcore fans of The Elder Scrolls series. So, will Alduin be perched somewhere in your home when Skyrim arrives this November?
