During this year’s Sony E3 press conference it was revealed that an affordable 3DTV solution was on the horizon, and that it also included the incredible ability to display 2 different images for multiplayer gaming. A bundle including a 24″ 3D Monitor, 3D glasses, and an HDMI cable, all with Resistance 3 included was shown during the presentation with a surprisingly low price tag of only $499.99. The bundle is coming soon, but has changed since we last saw it.
Pre-orders for the $499.99 3D Monitor bundle releasing later this year have popped up across the internet, but something’s different. Motorstorm: Apocalypse has replaced Resistance 3 as the included game. In response to questions about the change, Insomniac Games posted the following on Twitter:
Yes, there is no 3DTV bundle with R3. Sony makes the decision on that front.
This change could be for numerous reasons, but it’s possible that executives at Sony think Motorstorm: Apocalypse is a a better starter title for consumers new to 3D (Sony’s 3D head Mick Hocking said that it was his favorite 3D game).
Thankfully for Resistance fans, Gamestop doesn’t seem to like the change, and will be including both titles in their bundle, making it even more of a steal. Although, this could be a mistake and GameStop never took down the original notice of Resistance 3 being added, so don’t get your hopes up.
