THQ has been kind enough to release a handful of new screenshots for fans of the Darksiders franchise to drool over. In the game you play as Death, the second Horseman of the Apocalypse.
As you’ll see in the screenshots from gamescom, this is one colorful title, sporting visuals that are a bit reminiscent of the art seen in World of Warcraft. With a unique blend of gothic and fantasy, the world of Darksiders is just begging to be explored .

In addition, an announcement trailer was unveiled for the game at this year’s gamescom. The video explains the basic premise of the game, hinting at the events in the first title and foreshadowing what’s to come in the sequel. With a pretty powerful and eerie soundtrack, the clip is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Darksiders II is being developed by Vigil Games and is expected to launch sometime next year.
