Having worked in the video game industry for a few years now, nothing quite surprises me anymore. But whatever Kevin Butler is planning, it’s got me scratching my head asking simply: WTF?
It’s been a long while since we heard much from Kevin Butler. The VP of almost everything and anything, took a long hiatus after the PlayStation Network fiasco. But his Twitter account has suddenly become active again. Mr. Butler said:
A man can only be made VP so many times, KB’s off to be PRESIDENT of my uncle’s new upstart company.
He’s apparently taken a job at his uncle’s flooring company, “Economy Flooring”. He’s definitely still got his strange sense of humor, as his the tiled background on his Twitter account is littered with business cards that prove this new position will keep him as a jack of all trades. Here are a few examples of his new titles:
- President, Laminate Laminating
- President, Bamboo Expansion
- President, Less-than-hardwoods
- President, Planking
This new job still has something to do with Sony, as this Economy Flooring’s corporate headquarters are in Foster City, CA – the same place where SCEA’s headquarters are located.
A spokesperson for SCEA told IndustryGamers this:

We suggest you take that spokesperson’s advice and follow his tweets. Either way, we’ll be sure to update you when we know for sure what’s going on.
