The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and everything about the game has looked positive so far – well, at least until now.
To the surprise of everyone (sarcasm), Microsoft and Bethesda Softworks have announced a partnership to bring the first two DLC packages for Skyrim to the PS3’s main competitor a month sooner. As a result, the PC and PlayStation 3 are getting the shaft on one of the biggest games of 2011. The official statement says:
The first two add-on content drops for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be releasing exclusively on Xbox 360, 30 days before it’s available anywhere else.
Bethesda has had a history of bringing disappointing ports to the PS3, so this really comes as no surprise. Thankfully, the deal is only for 30-days of timed exclusivity, so chances are you’ll still be playing through the massively large RPG experience by the time the first DLC package hits the PS3.
