Originally having debuted in 2001, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a new entry in the Max Payne series, but Rockstar aims to bring back the franchise with a bang. In Max Payne 3, Max has moved to Brazil, working in the in private security sector, but life hasn’t got any calmer for the ex-NYPD cop, as, once again, he must shoot everything in sight.
Developed by Rockstar’s Vancouver studio, the game is due out next March, but it has taken until today for the publisher to release a full Max Payne 3 trailer.
The gritty shooter series was one of the first to use “bullet time” mechanics, where time moved slower for enemies, giving you the upper hand. Both installments in the series were critical and commercial hits, but the Max Payne feature film that starred Mark Wahlberg sadly suffered the fate of many movies based on games.
