Akihiro Hino, the president and CEO of Japanese game developer Level-5 recently shared his thoughts on Sony’s upcoming handheld at Sony’s Play LIVE event during TGS, saying the Vita is “hard like a battleship.”
While the statement can be taken a number of different ways, Hino went on to explain the comparison. “Almost like the Space Battleship Yamato,” he added, likening the Vita to the feature-rich battleship seen in a popular Japanese anime.
Currently, there is no news regarding a Level-5 PlayStation Vita title to speak of, though a Sony release list indicates the team is working on an unnamed RPG for the device.
Level-5 is the team responsible for the upcoming title Ni no Kuni, a PlayStation 3 RPG set to launch in Japan by year’s end and in the U.S. sometime next year.
