To go along with the official confirmed release date, EA has unveiled the debut trailer for Syndicate and it is chock full of the sci-fi gunplay and brutal melee combat. The remake of the 1993 classic title is definitely taking a more modern approach, with the traditional gameplay being replaced with first person shooter game mechanics.
The story of Syndicate is set in 2069, introducing players into a dark world where corporations are competing for market dominance. The people eventually become the victims of this rivalry, with said corporations using bio-chips surgically implanted throughout the heads of the general population to influence their decisions. Syndicate will feature a single player campaign, as well as a deep four player cooperative mode that that includes content from the original title. The game is being developed by Starbreeze studio, and is currently slated to be released in February 21st 2012 in North America, and February 24th in Europe.
