Suda Would Love to Work with Kojima, Waiting for the “Right Moment”

What would happen if you brought together two of the most innovative Japanese developers in the industry? Something awesome for sure. For quite some time now, gamers have been clamoring for a collaboration between Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima and Grasshopper Manufacture’s twisted Goichi Suda. While a joint project certainly isn’t out of the question, it looks like it’s all going to come down to timing.

With Kojima busy working on the new Fox Engine, Metal Gear Rising, the upcoming HD Collections for both Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders, transfarring and likely five other things we don’t yet know about, he’s a pretty busy man. In an interview with Joystiq, Suda acknowledged this fact when asked about plans to work with Kojima in the future.

I think it’s really all about timing. Kojima is busy, Kojima Productions is busy, but if we have the right moment, sure.

Let’s also not forget that that Suda is quite the busy man himself, with Grasshopper currently busy working on Lollipop Chainsaw, Diabolical Pitch and Sine Mora.

Kojima and Suda are working together on Sdatcher, a radio play based off of Kojima’s Snatcher series. While it’s not a game it’s the closest thing we’ll get right now.
