Capcom is currently in the late stages of production for Asura’s Wrath, which is their first major beat-em-up affair since the golden days of Devil May Cry. After lots of positive impressions over the year, Capcom is only a few months from finishing development, and an official release date has been revealed.
While speaking at a Capcom event last night, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya stated that Asura’s Wrath will be coming to North America on February 21st, 2012. This places its arrival just a week after both SSX and Ninja Gaiden III, the latter which will prompt some quick comparisons and competition as well.
Asura’s Wrath is an action game that focuses on a titanic visual presentation, and some fast-paced and explosive gameplay that caught the attention of many at this year’s E3 event. Speaking of which, we really enjoyed what we played at E3 (check out our impressions), and the most surprising thing is that despite it’s God of War-esque style, it does an excellent job of offering unique level of entertainment with Anime inspired visuals and combat techniques. It definitely seeks to impress, and it won’t be long before we see if it becomes the surprise blockbuster of 2012 that it has the potential to be.
