2011 is almost over, and Mortal Kombat has remained one of the strongest releases of the year. As a matter of fact, it’s arguably the best release of the classic franchise. As a result, a Game of the Year edition is in the works.
Amazon France has listed a Game of the Year edition of Mortal Kombat. The page shows that it will contain the title along with all additional content such as the Klassic DLC pack, as well as the additional characters Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and the controversial Freddy Krueger. If the Amazon France posting is correct, it’ll retail for around $39.99 in North America.
Could this be the surprising announcement that Ed Boon was talking about last week? Many have speculated that the announcement could be for a completely different IP, or perhaps for the Vita release slated for next year. Better yet, maybe all three will be announced, and there will be plenty of NetherRealm Studios’ excellent work to go around.
