Sony Delays Launch of PlayStation 3D Display in Europe

While US gamers can already head over to their local electronics store and pick up the PlayStation 3D Display, it looks like gamers in Europe will have some waiting to do, as Sony has delayed the release of this hardware outside of North America.

Sony has been positioning this display as the affordable entryway into 3D gaming, with the package offering a 3D display, one pair of 3D glasses and a copy of the 3D-enabled title Motorstorm: Apocalypse. The hardware bundles comes at the affordable price of only $500/£410/€530, but the only issue is that the screen is quite small, measuring in at a measly 24 inches.

What’s unique about this display however, is the fact that two players can view the screen and see two different images, removing the need to split thr screen when two people want to play together on one screen.

So, what could this delay mean for European gamers? Has Sony been running into production issues? Has a lack of interest made Sony think twice about launching the hardware beyond the US? Amazon recently removed the release date altogether from their UK store listing, and Sony has not been able to provide a response to the delay. It looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
