Rumor: Vita Allows You to Play All PS3 Games Anywhere with Remote Play

Have you ever wanted to play your favorite PlayStation 3 games on your handheld, but don’t want to worry about whether or not the game you want to play is supported? You’re in luck, because the Vita may have a solution for you.

Eurogamer claims that the PlayStation 3 will receive a firmware update around the launch of the handheld that will integrate Vita Remote Play. While it will only support a 480×272 resolution, which is nearly half of the device’s normal pixel count, all games will be supported. For the first time ever, you’ll be able to play games like Batman: Arkham City, Dark Souls, and even the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection on your elegant, portable device, anywhere you want.

The addition of a second analog stick and a more ergonomic design should make this one of the best additions to the PlayStation Portable’s successor. It hasn’t been confirmed if online play will be supported, but it’s definitely possible, and would make this a complete implementation. The Vita is beginning to look like it can do just about everything, and with a European and North American release date of February 22, 2012, you won’t have to wait long to experience it for yourself.
