Existence of Resident Evil 6 Is ‘Confidential’ According To Jovovich

Capcom’s Resident Evil series is very similar to its zombies – every few years the franchise roars to life in one form or another. Rumors surrounding Resident Evil 6 speculated that the title is both in production and may act as a reboot for the 15 year old survival horror property.

Resident Evil has seen a new release either in the form of a videogame, re-release or film happen annually for the last few years. Milla Jovovich, the star of Resident Evil Films, has kept fans up-to-date regarding the fifth film via Twitter for some time now. Today she fueled speculation of a sixth numbered entry in the game series with the follow tweet.

So, I just asked the boys from Capcom when RE6 the game comes out and they said …. hahaha it’s confidential. So there you go folks.

Capcom’s Masachika Kawata spoke with Spanish fan site MarcaPlayer where he mentioned that work on a new game had begun. Fan translations of his statements centered around the fact that this new supposed entry could include take a direction such as switching genres. None of the information in the translations was ever confirmed by Capcom.

Would you like to see a sixth Resident Evil game on PlayStation? With *spoilers* series antagonist Albert Wesker biting the dust at the end of 5 *end spoilers*, it would make sense that Capcom is looking at fresh angles for the next game.
