Battlefield 3 Sells 8 Million Copies

EA knows how to sell games – surprise! Battlefield 3 has already sold eight million copies worldwide, and shipped around 12 million copies of the game to stores. Maybe it has something to do with that Jay-Z commercial.

During the Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco today, CFO Eric Brown announced the good news. He also reiterated that five million copies were sold in the first week the game launched at the end of October. Brown unfortunately did not mention the breakdown of sales on each platform, as it’d be interesting to see how many multi-console owners bought the game on PS3 based on Sony’s promise to include Battlefield 1943.

Are you one of the eight million? Let us know in the comments below.
