With the console generation drawing to a close, you’d be forgiven for thinking the PS3’s best days were behind it – but you’d be wrong. Strong third-party titles like BioShock, GTA V and Hitman will make 2012 a fantastic year for gamers, but, once again, Sony’s first parties lead the pack. Along with a strong Vita launch, titles like Starhawk and Twisted Metal will make early 2012 a time to remember, but the end of the year will be home to the game we are most excited for. Developed by one of the best developers in the world, and creators of the PS3’s finest series Uncharted, it’s hard not to look forward to The Last of Us. With 2011 lacking many major new IPs, Naughty Dog’s take on the post-apocalyptic genre is sure to rock the gaming world similarly to how Uncharted took the action-platformer genre by storm.
