Atelier Meruru to Apprentice in North America, Europe

Japanese Developer Gust will see yet another installment of perhaps its most popular international series head abroad this May, as NIS America has announced North American and European localization plans for the PS3’s Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland.

This is the third title in Gust’s Arland sub-series of the Atelier franchise, so naturally, the game will have a look, sound, and feel comparable to those of Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori.

NIS America has launched the following prologue video to go with this announcement. It’s basically recapping the first two Arland games before briefly introducing the third:

The Atelier series always sells well in Japan, with its PS3 titles being no strangers to the number one spot on software charts. They’ve apparently been doing well abroad, too, as NIS America’s localization announcements are coming faster and faster. Rorona took about a year and a half to get from Japan to North America, Totori was released internationally about a year after its Japanese launch, and now, Meruru is slated to debut with an 11 month gap.

NISA has recently launched the game’s official website here. Interested gamers can check that out, and don’t forget we’ve got some screenshots and a pair of Japanese trailers right here at PSLS.
